Earthceuticals® natural soaps, spa and natural pet products are really natural products and contain only natural ingredients. Why do we go the "extra mile" to develop products that are not just labeled as natural, organic or green... but are genuinely natural... meaning that they contain absolutely no artificial chemical ingredients?

Your skin layers serve a special purpose. Not only is the skin the largest organ in the body, more importantly... it's where your inner body interacts with the outside world. Your skin can also be the largest delivery system for outside substances to enter the body. A common example of this is the nicotine patch. Your skin effectively transports substances through the skin to the bloodstream, so effectively in fact that pharmaceutical makers use skin patches to deliver a number of drugs from nicotine, to nitroglycerin to birth control drugs... all right through the skin and into the bloodstream. This is why we will not manufacture any personal care product which cannot be manufactured as a genuine all natural personal care product.

Most personal care products being marketed at this time as all natural, in fact contain undesirable and artificial ingredients. Yes, some of them have actually tried to to make their products somewhat more natural than their regular brands, but they are not genuinely all natural. Take for example a few of the most common mass marketed soaps, labeled as all natural, pure, and naturally moisturizing as an example. We won't list the product names here, but instead some of the ingredients on just their common soaps.

Tetrasodium EDTA, 2,6 d-t butyl-p-cresol, sodium stearate, trisodium etidronate, sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate, sodium cocoyl isethionate, cocoaamidopropylbetaine, sodium alkylbenzenesulfonate, lauric acid, sodium cocoglyceryl ether sulfonate.

We have an in house doctor who has considerable training in chemistry, organic chemistry and environmental chemistry, and it goes without saying these are in no way natural ingredients although the bars are sold as natural and or pure. In fact, these bars are not technically soaps, although they are marketed as such. They would be more appropriately labeled as detergents. These are principally chemical surfactants, which in our opinion would be better suited to wash your car or your deck than to apply to your skin.
